Summer Dawn Wallace

Theatre Maker

ABOUT
Summer Dawn

Summer Dawn Wallace is an actor, director, intimacy choreographer, educator, producer, and arts leader. As a founder and Producing Artistic Director of Urbanite Theatre, she has produced more than 65 new plays, readings, and festivals dedicated to championing contemporary voices and bold storytelling. Her directing work spans world premieres, intimate character-driven pieces, and large-scale productions, including the recent projects The Apiary, Monsters of the American Cinema, Spaceman, No One Is Forgotten, world premiere of Westminster and touring production of Bo-nita.

As an Intimacy Consultant & Choreographer, Summer has worked with Asolo Repertory Theatre for the past three seasons, leading Language of Consent workshops and creating intimacy choreography that supports both storytelling and artist well-being. She is also a member of the faculty at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory, where she is proud to teach at her alma mater, and serves as Vice President of the Florida Professional Theatre Association.

Beyond the stage, Summer is an accomplished administrator, fundraiser and grant writer. She is equally at home building a budget spreadsheet as she is building a rehearsal room, a skillset aided by an unexpected love of math. A six-time marathon finisher and proud mom to four senior chihuahuas affectionately known as “the Nuggets,” Summer believes that great art, like great communities, is built through curiosity, resilience, and care.
